Dance can be described as a synthesis of music, movement and drama. This poetic expression of creative energies has always been the essence of Momentum, RP’s Dance Festival.
In its 4th year, Momentum 2011 aims at promoting dance as a form of expression as well as showcasing the best dance talents to be found in schools and institutions of higher learning in Singapore. With the theme of ‘Emotions in Motion’, Momentum 2011 looks forward at expanding its purpose, program and partners.
Billed as being youthful, vibrant and daring, the week-long Momentum 2011 resonates with the feelings of today’s youth and celebrates the love and appreciation for dance – from the traditional to the contemporary.
Momentum 2011 Launch is followed by a string of fringe events – LEAPS! A student choreographers’ showcase, film screenings, workshops, mass dance workout sessions, traditional dance concert and a dance dialogue. The exciting program culminates in the Showcase – a kaleidoscope of interesting and eclectic dance pieces guaranteed to evoke diverse feelings in the audience.
